QuikTrip Gas Prices: Everything You Need To Know
Source: Pixabay
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for half a year, you’re likely aware of skyrocketing gas prices, especially at the start of the year. Gas prices have repeatedly broken record highs, which caused an unprecedented amount of pain at the pump. Fast forward to today, gas prices have finally come down for about 70 or more days. According to AAA gas prices, the national average of gas prices is now $3.857 per gallon – a far cry from almost $6 per gallon during the price surge.
Having said that, we here at CoPilot like to be updated with today’s gas prices from various states and fuel brands across the nation. For today’s highlight, we’ll look at QuikTrip Gas Prices.
Are QuikTrip’s fuel prices competitive compared to other brands? Does the company offer good quality gas? Are there ways to save when pumping your vehicle at a QuikTrip gas station? We have the answers below and more.
How Much Does QuickTrip Gas Cost?
QuickTrip or QT is a convenience store chain based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and primarily serves the Midwestern, Southern, and Southeastern United States and Arizona. QuikTrip has 949 locations across 16 states and 267 cities. With 230 locations, Texas has the most QuikTrip stores, followed by Georgia and Missouri, with 151 and 134 sites, respectively.
On a related note, many people confuse QuickTrip and Kwik Trip gas stations, but they’re not the same company. KwikTrip goes by a different name, Kwik Star, in states where QuickTrip operates.
For today’s QuickTrip gas prices analysis, we’ll look at several national stores and compare them with competing fuel brands. As per usual, we’ll use GasBuddy for reference.

Comparing QuickTrip Gas Prices
Update (7/28/2023): gas prices continue their upward trajectory over the last few weeks. according to aaa, the national per-gallon average for fuel is $3.732 and it’s on track to increase in the following months..
In QuickTrip’s headquarter state, Tulsa, OK, the company offers per-gallon pricing of $3.43 for regular and $3.63 for premium. For Tulsa, QuickTrip’s gas prices are hardly competitive as it failed to break into the top ten lowest prices in the area. The lowest gas price comes from Sam’s Club at $3.15 per gallon; next is Costco at $3.19 per gallon. QuickTrip didn’t get into the top ten cheapest gas prices for the whole state of Oklahoma.
For Tucson, AZ, QuickTrip’s gas price is $3.28 per gallon for regular fuel and $3.78 for premium. This location boasts the lowest gas price in Tucson and is tied with brands like Costco and Walmart at $3.28 per gallon. When you consider the whole state of Arizona, the same $3.28 per gallon price of QuickTrip remains the cheapest, which is quite impressive.
Heading to Kansas City, MO, QuickTrip offers a per-gallon price of $3.14 for regular and $4.09 for premium. Once again, QuickTrip has the lowest per-gallon price in Kansas City and is tied with Costco and Sam’s Club at $3.14. The rest of the top ten is populated by brands like BP, Conoco, Sinclair, and Casey’s. For the state of Missouri, QuickTrip may not be the lowest priced, but it did break into the top ten at $3.07 per gallon. The lowest price in the state is from MFA Oil at $2.59 per gallon.
Last but not least, QuickTrip has a per-gallon price of $3.09 for regular fuel in Waco, TX. While it’s not the cheapest fuel in Waco, it’s top-ten pricing from QT. The lowest gas prices are from Circle K and Valero at $3.04 per gallon, followed by Murphy USA and HEB at $3.09 per gallon. For the whole state of Texas, QuickTrip didn’t make it into the top ten, where the lowest price is from Exxon at $2.92 per gallon.
Overall, many of QuickTrip gas stations offer great prices and can compete with the cheapest gasoline in several areas. This is even more impressive since QT is a Top Tier gasoline, which we’ll talk about more below.

Is QuickTrip Gas Good Quality?
Some say that commercial fuel brands are essentially the same since they have to adhere to the standards set by the government. In reality, not all gasoline brands are created equal. In this case, Top Tier gasoline has been scientifically proven to provide benefits you won’t find in non-certified brands.
With that said, QuickTrip or QT is a Top Tier brand , meaning its fuel products are treated with an approved Detergent Gasoline additive at the right concentration. As a Top Tier brand, QuickTrip’s fuel will less likely help develop deposits in your engine’s fuel injectors and intake valves. The deposit buildup can affect your vehicle’s performance and fuel economy. According to research conducted by AAA, fueling with Top Tier gas will keep your engine 19x cleaner than standard fuel.
Many Top Tier brands are prominent companies like Chevron, Texaco, and Shell. However, QuickTrip manages to offer reasonable prices, despite being a Top Tier gas brand.

How to Save on QuickTrip Gas Prices With Fuel Rewards Program?
With skyrocketing gas prices, you need all the help you can get to save on gas. Like most prominent brand names, QT has a fuel rewards program that patrons can take advantage of to save on fuel. The primary way to save on QT gas is through one of its three types of reward cards:
- QT Gift Cards: This works like a standard gift card that you may use for shopping from convenience stores and pumping fuel at QT’s gas stations. Gift cards are available and reloadable from any QT location and online.
- QT Fleetmaster Cards: These cards work like your standard fuel cards, with extra perks like 5¢ or 3¢ savings per gallon at any QuickTrip locations. You may also avail of the Fleetmaster Plus card, which is accepted in 95% of fueling locations nationwide. However, you can only avail of up to 3¢ off per gallon.
There are several ways to register for the QuikTrip Fuel Rewards Program, and oddly enough, not one of them is to visit the store in person. Instead, you can sign up online/website, through the QuickTrip app, and by phone.
QuikTrip Gas Prices Update [7/28/2023]
AAA reports that the current national average for gas prices stands at $3.732 per gallon . Over the past few months, there have been fluctuations in gas prices, with a recent trend showing an upward trajectory in the last few weeks. According to CBS News , the current surge in gas prices can be attributed to the escalating prices in the global market.
When it comes to QuikTrip gas prices, the fuel chain remains one of the cheapest sellers of gas in many regions in the U.S. For instance, in Blue Springs, MO, QuikTrip offers a per-gallon price of $3.56 for regular and $4.06 for premium. However, QuikTrip prices are generally more expensive compared to chains like Costco, Circle K, and Fastrip.
With that said, experts believe that gas prices will continue to rise before they start to decrease, especially with the few more weeks of summer.

New version is harder to use
Love the app and use it weekly. Deals are great, coupons are not bad and finding stores is easy. My only problem is it is now harder to order food and now there is no favored stores on the home page. Why change it when it worked so well?? Ordering food takes longer and I have had freezes but it’s no deal breaker. I don’t use it that much to begin with, only when I am on a time crunch. My main beef is with your 3 favored stores not on the start up/home screen. You can still save them, but you have to search for all stores in order to see them and what the gas prices are. Why even offer favored stores if you are going to have to search all stores to see them anyway?? Just makes no sense at all. I wish I could have the previous version back... Update: they have received my review and sent feedback as well. Said they were taking it into future considerations since I wasn’t the only one not pleased with the favorites being omitted on the home screen. 2 new updates later.... still no change. No change on their part, no rating change on my part. Only thing holding it back... Final update: they have FINALLY put favorites on the home screen. It’s took long enough. Now it’s back to being a useful app again.
Developer Response ,
Hi! We will pass along your concerns about the favorites on the home page going away. Thank you for providing us feedback! Have a great night.
I LOVE this app but there are a few things they could make better
I love the convince of this app as I’m the person who is always running late and this totally saves me so much time if I need to grab something really quick on a time crunch! The feature that they can bring it out to your car is a lifesaver when you have kids in the car and I love all the money saving deals and freebies, especially the fun freebies they give during the holidays just for ordering! I wish they would add a notes/ special request feature when ordering food! I’m now pregnant and wanted to order a sandwich and grab it really quick on my 15 minute break but I wanted to be able to tell them to heat the meat up as well for safe pregnancy consumption as well as to add a sauce to dip it in on the side! Or maybe that be an option on the ordering details. Also there aren’t any of the sugar free monster options available to order ahead which is a total bummer! Just some things I hope you’ll be able to add to the app later on! 😁
Always open! Always friendly!
Nearly always the same. (Older QTs are spoilers) I love the new GEN 3 stores. I really love that all of the products are in the exact same place in the store so it truly is a quick trip for me to walk into any of them get exactly what I want and be out the door super fast. It would be great if there was more promotion about customers can use both sides of the register at the same time. Some people don’t know that and I feel awkward stepping in front of them to prove the point. • My one and only suggestion is when I try to re-order food it puts the food you want into the cart but it also attaches it to the exact QT you were shopping at last time. I drive for a living and so are use multiple QTs in the KC metro area. But I always order the same food. Could you possibly make a choice that allows ordering the same food and allows selecting nearest QT?

Need To Calculate Gas Costs For Your Next Road Trip? These Are The Best Apps For That
Got a road trip coming up? Dreaming of one? Beyond what snacks to buy and what tunes to play, one key aspect to consider in your road trip game plan is the cost of fuel. Knowing how much you'll spend on gas can help you budget your trip more effectively and avoid any surprises at the pump or in your bank account. Thankfully, there are several apps designed precisely to help you calculate gas costs accurately and plan the perfect road trip .
The old-school method of this calculation involves four steps. First, you have to get your vehicle's fuel efficiency by calculating its miles per gallon (MPG). Next, work out the total distance you estimate to be driving on your road trip; include any detours, stops, traffic hotspots, or other considerations. Now — and you'll have to do some research here — get the regional and time-relevant gas prices ( AAA can help). Finally, calculate the overall cost by dividing the total driving distance by your MPG, then multiply that number (gallons of gas you'll need) by the gas price. However, we want to take all that mathematical brainwork out of the way, so here are the best apps to consider for your next journey.
GasBuddy is one of the most popular apps for finding the cheapest gas prices in your area , and it also offers a useful trip cost calculator; by inputting information about your road trip itinerary and vehicle, the app can estimate the total fuel cost for your trip. GasBuddy uses community-driven data and updates from over 150,000 gas stations across the United States (and also in Canada) in its network to ensure that prices are regularly updated and relevant.
GasBuddy, Omni, Roadtrip, and others
Omni Calculator , the all-in-one digital calculator — which also has a boat speed, Tesla charging cost, and even a flight radiation calculator — has a simple, user-friendly standard gas calculator. The principle is the same: Input your road trip distance, fuel efficiency, fuel amount, and fuel price to get your total gas cost. This free calculator doesn't have the other, more nifty features that GasBuddy has, so Omni is best for the purpose of getting a generic cost estimate without any extra information.
Roadtrip , an app that recently gained some popularity on TikTok, is a colorful, multi-feature, easy-to-use gas calculator (and then some). It helps you calculate your fuel costs based on the exact specs of your car (or truck or motorbike) and locations, from New Zealand to America to France. In the app's premium version, you can split gas and other road trip costs with your travel buddies. Roadtrip also has route optimization, carbon emission tracking, and a vehicle comparison feature, which can help you choose the best, most fuel-efficient vehicle option — if you're comparing among your friends or family member's vehicles — for your road trip.
Other honorable mentions include the apps Roadtrippers, Fuelio, ViaMichelin, and AAA TripTik Travel Planner (for AAA members only). With the right app, you'll be able to easily estimate your gas expenses , plan your route, and find the best spots to fuel up along the way. Before you hit the road on your next adventure, be sure to download one of these and take the guesswork out of your fuel budget.

You could save between $105 to $138 per month on fuel costs by choosing a fully electric vehicle over a gas-powered one. However, the exact amount you’ll spend on charging an electric car depends on where you charge it.
The cost of charging an electric vehicle
Charging at home may cost you in the ballpark of $40 per month , if you drive 14,000 miles per year and get four miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh). We base the at-home cost on the average home electricity cost of 14 cents per kWh, according to the Energy Information Administration (5) .
However, a Level 3 fast-charging station might run closer to $73 per month , based on EVgo’s fee (6) of $0.25 per kWh. At this price point, EVgo also charges a $7 monthly subscription fee.
Compare your savings to the average monthly gas cost across the 50 US states, which is $177.85. That cost is based on 2022 gas prices and each state’s average monthly mileage according to the Bureau of Transportation.
If you’re considering an electric vehicle, keep other electric vehicle costs and incentives in mind, such as installing an at-home battery charger or getting federal tax credits.

The American Automotive Association updates a daily list of state average gas prices in the US. Finder began tracking these prices on September 22, 2022, to compile a historical record of gas prices in the US. For historical gas price data, we used the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to record each state’s prices on Thursdays since November 30, 2017.
Limitations: Our figures display what is available on the date in question for each month. AAA updates its average state prices daily, though there may be discrepancies between what was reached on that day and what was actually published.
The Finder Consumer Confidence Index is an ongoing quarterly survey that captures the perceptions of a nationally representative sample of 2,112 American adults and asked questions related to household finances. Results were collected October 4 to October 19, 2022.

Backers of I-2117 slash gas prices at Vancouver station to highlight impact of climate act
Event that briefly lowered prices hosted by let’s go washington; initiative foes say it doesn't guarantee lower prices.
Let’s Go Washington, a conservative political action committee, lowered the price of gas to $3.19 a gallon at a Vancouver Chevron gas station for two hours Friday morning.
The group has hosted similar events across the state in recent weeks to demonstrate the impacts of Washington’s Climate Commitment Act on gas prices and drum up support for passing Initiative 2117, which would repeal the act.
“We’ve seen no measurable impacts from CCA,” said Hallie Balch, director of communications for Let’s Go Washington. “It’s billions of dollars being raked in by this program, and it’s off the backs of commuters, off the backs of the working class, off the backs of normal people.”
After several failed attempts, the Washington Legislature passed the Climate Commitment Act in 2021. The act sets a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 95 percent by 2050 and established the state’s cap-and-invest system, which limited the amount of greenhouse gases businesses can produce. If they can’t stay under the limit, they have to give the state money, which goes toward climate initiatives across the state.
Although both sides of the issue seem to agree the act has contributed to an increase in gas prices, it’s unclear just how much. Washington historically has had high gas prices. But between 2020 and 2024, the average price of gas rose about $1.50 a gallon in the state, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Let’s Go Washington argues the impact is 50 cents per gallon, while Clean and Prosperous Institute (a nonprofit and subsidiary of the Washington Business Alliance Fund) estimates about 25 cents a gallon for 2023 gas prices.
Clark County resident Don Steinke, a volunteer for the campaign against I-2117 and local climate activist, said the events are misleading because the initiative does not guarantee lower gas prices.
“Let’s Go Washington is funded by wealthy Republicans that don’t want to help pay for public benefits. … The Republican Party couldn’t defeat this in the Legislature, and so they’re trying to defeat it at the ballot box,” Steinke said.
Price of gas
The gas station at 2517 N.E. Andresen Road is right along a major road and directly next to a church that sometimes serves as a homeless shelter.
DeAnna Hathaway was one of the first people to fill up her gas tank at the event. Her toddler grandson, whom she raises, sat in a car seat. The price of gas has made paying for a babysitter for him while she works the night shift at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center difficult, she said.
“It’s like, you don’t get to go anywhere. You have to stay home. It takes away from your food. It’s crazy,” she said.
Jamie Navarro filled up her tank with the reduced-priced gas at a different pump. The price of gas in recent years has made buying food and picking up her grandson from day care harder, she said.
Gas companies and politicians are taking advantage of people who have no choice but to accept high gas prices, Navarro said. She plans to move to Florida soon where her daughter and mother live, in part, because of cheaper gas.
“My daughter can fill her tank up for $25, and my tank here is like $70,” she said.
Both Hathaway and Navarro said they’ll vote in favor of the initiative and hope it will lower gas prices.
“We’ve had people telling us, ‘We are going grocery shopping today. This means we can get more of our groceries. We’re taking our kids back to school shopping,’” Balch said. “This means they can get a few more items that they need.”
The events have experienced pushback from environmental activists and Defend Washington, an advocacy group formed to combat Let’s Go Washington.
Defend Washington filed a complaint with the state Public Disclosure Commission on Aug. 15 alleging the events offering cheaper gas violated the state’s anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws. Lawyers accuse Let’s Go Washington of buying support rather than winning it, according to The Spokesman-Review .
Let’s Go Washington argues the discounts are only meant to raise awareness and are not in exchange for votes. Balch said some people told her they were against the initiative but still accepted the discounted gas.
“Anybody can come. We’re lowering the price for everybody. … This is like the least bribe thing we could do,” Balch said at the event.
Worth the cost?
Since the Climate Commitment Act went into effect in January 2023, gas prices in Washington have risen about 22 cents per gallon (as of August). However, gas prices are about 89 cents a gallon cheaper on average than this time last year in Washington, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Many factors went into the overall increase in gas over the past few years, including war and the pandemic, said Mark Prentice, spokesman for No On I-2117.
If the initiative passes, projects in Clark County will lose funding , he said. For example, the city of Vancouver received about $1 million in Climate Commitment Act funds in April for energy-efficiency upgrades in affordable housing.
Statewide, most of the funding from the Climate Commitment Act has gone toward transportation (including free transit for minors), improving pedestrian and bicyclist safety, and making buildings more energy-efficient.
“Initiative 2117 is a deceptive initiative that does nothing to guarantee lower costs. What it does guarantee for the region is guarantee more pollution and more traffic,” Prentice said.
Let’s Go Washington argues that Washington residents aren’t getting enough bang for their buck. Environmental advocates say it will take time to see the effects of the programs, but investing in clean energy will save residents money in the long run.
In March, Gov. Jay Inslee released a breakdown of how $3.2 billion in Climate Commitment Act Funds will be spent between 2023 and 2025.
Washington voters will decide the fate of the Climate Commitment Act on Nov. 5.
